Set on the edge of the tranquil waters of the Wairoa River, Waverly on Wairoa is an ideal location for hosting a wedding. Only 10 minutes from Tauranga's city center, our venue is highly recommended by many here in the Bay of Plenty. With facilities to host both the ceremony and reception on-site for up to 120 guests, everyone will be able to enjoy your special day from start to finish, all in one place.
Our ceremony pergola is surrounded by lush greens, the beautiful Wairoa River, and is tucked away to ensure a private and intimate ceremony. Celebrate the rest of your day in our large, open-plan reception venue that boasts stunning views of the river and surrounding trees. Your guests can mix and mingle while enjoying a drink and watching the sun set behind the neighbouring trees.

We have a full equipped kitchen here at Waverly on Wairoa, and you are welcome to choose your own caterers to provide the food for your wedding. There are so many great caterers to choose from in the Bay of Plenty, however these are our favourite caterers who provide amazing wedding catering:

Your chosen caterers are welcome to use our fully-equipped kitchen to store and prepare the wedding food. The food can be served with our crockery and cutlery which is included in our Wedding Package. We can provide tables and linen for a buffet, which is typically what most weddings in our venue have as their choice of dinner.
The caterers must leave our kitchen in a tidy condition and take all rubbish with them when they leave.
While we typically only allow for licensed caterers in our venue, we do offer the option for couples to provide their own snacks/canapes for after the ceremony, as well as dessert/sweet stations. Please liaise with our wedding coordinator if this is something you'd like to do.
Please note that any caterer in our venue is an independent contractor and Waverly on Wairoa has no liability or obligation to, or on behalf of the caterer.
Waverly on Wairoa is a fully licensed venue that allows the option for couples to provide the beverages for their guests to enjoy. We offer a B.Y.O Package that is an additional charge to our Wedding Package, which is a per-guest corkage fee. We also offer a full bar menu available on request.
For drinks service at both the ceremony and reception, the cost is $8.00 per guest.
Facilities & Services
We supply you with our bar facilities, glassware, ice, a licensed Duty Manager and bar staff to serve the drinks throughout the wedding. There will be multiple water dispensers for guests to help themselves to. We are able to serve drinks after the ceremony right through until 11.30pm.
There is limited fridge space at our venue, so for weddings of over 80 guests we highly recommend the use of a chiller trailer to ensure all of you drinks remain nice and chilled.
We take care of all rubbish from guests and recycle all glass, plastic and cardboard.
Our license only allows for beer wine, bubbles, cider and non-alcoholic beverages to be consumed on site. There are strictly no spirits or RTDs permitted. Please ensure you provide plenty of non or low-alcoholic options for guests.
Our licensed Duty Manager will be on site at all times throughout your wedding to monitor consumption and ensure everyone is enjoying their time with us.
